two months back I discussed legal advancements in Quebec with Montreal shutting down Brazilian Jiu Jitsu contests endangering participants as well as promoters with criminal charges for unlawful ‘prize fights’.
The legislation the authorities were endangering others with was never implied to apply to amateur grappling contests. Several people, myself included, reached out to senator Runciman, the guy who drafted the recent revisions to the Camiseta Bayern Munich Criminal Code broadening the legal combative sports that would Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Bélgica be enabled in Canada, for his views on this development. In a word the senator states Montreal’s setting is “inconceivable”. Here is the Senator’s full letter –
